Natural Remedies for Allergies

Allergies can sometimes be annoying. What natural remedies can treat or relieve allergies and discomfort?

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar can cure a variety of health conditions. Its capability to decrease mucous production and clean the lymphatic system makes it helpful for allergies. A teaspoon of unfiltered and organic apple cider vinegar should be mixed with a glass of water to form a solution which should be drank three times a day. This mixture can effectively relieve acute allergy symptoms as well as prevent allergy attacks while helping in digestion and weight loss.


Quercetin as one of the natural remedies for allergies that can stabilize mast cells so as not to release histamine. Quercetin is also a powerful antioxidant which can reduce inflammation. This natural bioflavonoid helps prevent allergy symptoms when taken for about 4 to 6 weeks prior to the allergy season. Nettle leaf is available in capsule form made from dried nettle leaves. This natural antihistamine reliably blocks the capability of our body to produce histamine. Nettle leaf can also be combined with other herbs to produce a soothing herbal tea used to relieve allergies. Neti pot

A neti pot can be filled with sterile saline solution can be used to effectively drain sinuses of allergens and irritations as well.

A teaspoon of dissolved amount of Himalayan or sea salt can be mixed with a quart of boiled distilled water and be placed in a neti pot after being completely cooled. The solution should be poured in one nostril and released from the other nostril.

Probiotics and local honey

Probiotics and local honey are also effective natural remedies for allergies. Fermented foods as well as drinks like Kombucha or Kefir promote growth of gut bacteria just like a high quality probiotic capsule. Consuming a good amount of bacteria while balancing gut bacteria provides positive effects on allergies.

A teaspoon of raw local honey or more drank one or many times a day can help relieve symptoms of allergies. This should be done a month before allergy season for best results.
